Illustration

I learned Photoshop so I could draw. I learned colour theory so I could make my characters look cooler. Somewhere along the way, those skills morphed into a career in creative strategy—but drawing has always been my home base. This page is part memory lane, part skill showcase, and part “I just wanted to paint something pretty.”

Welcome to the main event. This is where I do most of my drawing, experimenting, and dramatic lighting. It’s a mix of client projects, personal explorations, and the kind of fanart that starts with “just a sketch” and somehow ends 15 hours later.

DIGITAL PAINTING

In this ongoing partnership with author Leah Dougherty, I’ve manifested the visual world of her fantasy series Magic of Dawn. Most recently, that’s meant designing Nehebures—mythical beings with enough personality (and feathers) to fill several sketchbooks. Worldbuilding? Yes. Creature chaos? Also yes.

CONCEPT ART

Sometimes you’ve got to shake off the character obsession and try drawing a pine forest or an extremely simplified cactus that you lowkey want to adopt as a son. This section is for all those little side quests: dabbles in realism, environments, and anything else that got stuck in my head long enough to make it onto the canvas.

EXPLORATION

Every October, artists attempt the noble, exhausting, and occasionally unhinged challenge of making one ink drawing a day. Here’s a collection from one of the years I joined in—and yes, I did sacrifice several pens (and my social life) in the process.
